Hello My Lovelies!!

I just wanted to make a quick post to let you all know I'm on my way up to New York City for the inaugural Nails Night Out event. Yep, I'm blogging from the awesome MegaBus! We left DC a litte before 3pm, so I should be in New York in a couple of hours.

If you're a nail beauty blogger, you've already read about this event either here or on other blogs. It's also being heavily discussed on the Nail Board on MakeUp Alley. If you wanna check my blurb about Nails Night Out, click here.

I'm looking forward to meeting and networking with other Laquer Lovers as well as checking out new products and major SWAPPAGE!! I have a backpack full of goodies to trade for other goodies! I will be live "tweeting" from the soiree', so be sure to follow me on Twitter (@52Flavors) for minute to minute comments & observations. I will be sure to take plenty of pics (and maybe some video) to share with all my Beautiful Readers!

Quick Administrative Notes:

52Flavors.com now has a "fan page" (you guys aren't FANS, you're My Fellow Lovelies, but there was no option for that *lol*), so be sure to join!! (link in right margin).

We also have our own eStore on Amazon (that actually makes it an "aStore" lol) selling everything for your nails and overall beauty needs! The link is at the top in the left margin, so check it out and make a few purchases from 52Flavors.

"The Night Before" by Rimmel London

Hello Pretty People!

I don't know if I've ever told you all before, but I really love all things by Rimmel London. They make great eyeshadow and mascaras and each one I've tried has been awesome! I keep their Sexy Curves Mascara in my purse all the time, as it's one of my faves. And needless to say, their nail polishes are no exception. I've used them before and never have been disappointed. The brush is a dream to work with and it goes on so well. I only needed 2 coats to reach bottle opacity and the color is gorgeous.

I got this polish "The Night Before" from Target and I must say it's a beauty. It seems to have photographed a lot more "blue" than it actually is. It's really a deep purple, which I tried to show by taking a picture without the flash. I really LOVE the color! Check out the gorgeousness:

"Wagon Trail" by China Glaze

Hey Flavor Fanatics!

Well, I finally added "Wagon Trail" by China Glaze to my polish collection! I've wanted this polish for a long time, but was just putting off ordering it. I recently saw it in a beauty supply store, so I bought it and tried it out right away! It is indeed a LOVELY shade! It's a dark green with gold undertones. It even looks brown at times. I loved wearing this polish. It was all shimmery and warm-looking in the sun. Oh, the sun...we finally got some sunshine in the Capital City after about 7 days straight of rain! So I made sure to go outside and get a picture of this beautiful polish on my nails. Check out the pretty:

Mail Call!:October Shoe Dazzle Selection & Olan Cosmetic's Haul

Greetings, Beautiful Ones!

Yesterday I got my shoe selection for the month from ShoeDazzle.com. It's a very conservative gray wedge loafer. It was from a second set of possible selections, since the first set they sent me for the month of October didn't really appeal to me much. I also received products from an order I made at OlanLabs.com:

(l-r) Manhattan Skyline, Quick & Slick Topcoat, Sparkling Chocolate Ice

I ordered the Quick & Slick Top Coat after reading a post on AllLaqueredUp.com which says it doesn't get all thick and gunky as it ages as my favorite top coat Seche Vite does. Here's what the good people at AllLacqueredUp.com have to say about Quick & Slick Top Coat by OlanLabs:

"Quick & Slick is 3-Free, non-yellowing and quick drying. It leaves a high gloss shine and the thin, self-leveling formula applies like a dream I'm about halfway through my bottle and there's not a sign of those telltale strings from thickening when I pull out the brush."

That was enough to convince me to buy & and give it a try. I got mine right from the OlanLabs.com website and they had polishes as well, so I ordered the ones pictured above as well (swatches soon to come). That dark blue polish has me MIGHTY excited!!!

"Envy" by Zoya

Hello My Lovelies!

I finally got my fat little fingers on that deep dark forest green color polish that I've been wanting for oh-so-long! It is my very first Zoya polish and it's named "Envy", a creme polish. I've seen this polish swatched all over the nail blogosphere and it always whispered to me "Someday, we'll be together..." just like how the Supremes sang it. So when I saw it in the mall beauty supply, it whispered "Take me home!" And I did...look how beautiful it is!!

It looks kind of dull to me because I didn't put on a top coat, but that doesn't take away from it's magnificent. I think this polish had to have been formulated with brown skin in mind! I mean...it's forest green. Tree trunks are brown right? RIGHT!! *lol* That's my story and I'm sticking to it! It's a gem, either way!!

Question: What's your favorite Zoya polish? Which one should I get next??

Holo Love: "Revolution" by Color Club

Hello Laquer Lovers!

My love for holographic polishes is well documented. The first time I saw them on a blog, I fell in love and knew that the chameleon-like color changing beauty must grace my nails. I think that this charcoal gray "Revolution" is my 4th holo polish. It's such a sexy color against my skin. I love it on my fingers, but I think I'm gonna get this one on my toes for my next pedi. Check out the loveliness:

Complete awesomeness, right?

Question: How do you feel about the holographic polishes? What's your favorite?

"I'm Not Bitter" by China Glaze

Hello My Beauties!

I'm sharing yet another of my China Glaze polishes from Victoria Nail Supply. This one is "I'm Not Bitter". It's a red that I find hard to describe. Maybe "brand new brick"?? You know, with a tiny bit of orange undertones. It has some very fine gold micro-glitter infused as well. I usually like red polish, but this one didn't move me. It's pretty, but I just don't think it's me. Here are the pics I took for the few minutes I had it on (I didn't clean it up very well):

This will be one of the polishes I pack up and take with me up to New York to trade at "Nails Night Out NYC!" on Saturday! I'm so excited about that! I'm traveling with fellow DC beauty blogger Yummy 411 and I know we're going to have a great time.

Polish Haul @ The Mall

Hello My Lovelies!

This past weekend, I did a little mall shopping with my friends Yonna, Liz and my & Yonna's daughters. I was really looking for boots, but of course I scooped up polish! There was a nice indie beauty supply store across from H&M, so I scurried over there while my daughter was perusing the junior's section. What's a shopping trip without buying polish?? Anyways, here's a quick look-see of what I picked up:

(l-r) Dovima Matte & Envy

I finally got my first Zoya polishes (*turns in late pass*), and my first matte. I'm more than a little bit excited to give these polishes a try. I've been dying for a deep dark green for a while and here it is! Wonderful!

Photobucket
(l-r) Wagon Trail, Fortune Teller, Blk-Bila-Bong,
Fast Fwd Top Coat, Ghoulish Glow by China Glaze

Now, the only of these that I got from that Beauty Supply store was Wagon Trail, Blk-Bila-Bong and Ghoulish Glow. My Bestie, Yonna had picked up Fortune Teller & the top coat (by mistake while she was aiming for Matte Magic) from the Sally's near her house about a week ago, so she gave them to me yesterday. Look for swatches of these soon! Ghoulish Glow will get a lot of use in Halloween manis here at home and for my 3 Babes at work.

(l-r) Turn Out the Lights, Black to The Future

I got these two Nicole by OPI polishes from TJ Maxx. They were half the price they usually are in Target. I was attracted to the black polished infused with the green glitter in Turn Out the Lights and the purple in Black to The Future. If you look closely in the next picture, you can see it. I hope it won't be too hard to photograph when I swatch:

(l-r) Seche Vite & Super Nail polish thinner

Ok, I'm one of those people who fall for the impulse items at the check-out register. I saw the cutest little mini bottle of Seche Vite top coat! I had to buy it, despite having about 3 regular sized bottles around here in desperate need of the polish thinner I had picked up. I got it just so I could share it with My Lovelies!  Look how adorable it is!

Photobucket
I just wanna put a onsie on it and push it around in a stroller.

Photobucket
(l-r) Disco Ball by Sally Hansen, Night Before & Hard Edge by Rimmel

I got these 3 polishes Thursday afternoon on a Target run with the 3 Babes' mom (one of the perks of being a Nanny: shopping trips with a P/T SAHM). The Xtreme-wear polishes by Sally Hansen are the only ones I really like by them, so I picked up this clear based glitter. And I basically love ALL THINGS Rimmel, so I got these two dark polishes. They look nice for autumn/winter, right?

Well, that's the extent of my Mall Haul. Looks like I have a lot of swatching ahead of me, huh?? Time to get to it! :)
